FHP asks for help in Fort Myers hit and run

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in solving a hit and run accident in Fort Myers that sent one man to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash happened Friday afternoon on Palm Beach Boulevard at New York Drive. The woman driver of a white Ford Explorer failed to stop for a traffic light and rear ended a 2012 Hyundai.
Both drivers pulled over to New York Drive to exchange information but the woman behind the wheel of the Explorer fled the scene heading south on New York Drive, her SUV with minor front end damage and black paint on it from hitting the Hyundai.
The woman is described as a white female in her 30's.
A passenger in the Hyundai was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Any witnesses to the crash or anyone who may know the identity or location of the hit and run driver and or the vehicle is asked to contact Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Richard M. Verbiest at 239-344-1730.
