IMMOKALEE, Fla. - The Collier County Sheriff's Office issued an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Aldrice Edwan Cummings in connection with a shooting late Monday afternoon in Immokalee.
Cummings allegedly shot 29-year-old Gerald Colby James of Lehigh Acres in the fact.
Deputies said Cummings is described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
According to witnesses James was sitting on a bicycle on the side of the road in the 600 block of West Delaware Street when he was struck by a 2006 silver Buick four-door passenger vehicle driven by a man, later identified as Cummings.
Cummings then turned the car around and drove back in the direction of James, who was on the grass. Cummings pulled the car up next to James and fired one gunshot toward James’ face. After the gunshot, Cummings ran over James with the vehicle and headed south on South 5th Street.
Deputies located the Buick about three blocks away at 507 Doak Ave., which deputies said is the home of a relative of Cummings.
James was flown to Lee County Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition late Monday.
