New VA facility in Cape Coral set to open December 18

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The new VA Healthcare Center will officially open in Cape Coral on Tuesday December 18.
The facility which will replace the current VA location in Fort Myers will host a dedication on December 7th. The ceremony will feature Suzanne Klinker, the director of the Bay Pines VA, Cape Coral Mayor John Sullivan, Bob Koening, President of Manhattan Construction and keynote speaker Dr. Robert Jesse, the principal deputy secretary of Health, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
An opening house for the public will be held on December 8th from Noon to 3 p.m.
The new 220,000 square foot outpatient facility sits at 2489 Diplomat Parkway East in Cape Coral. The medical center is about four times larger than the current Fort Myers location.
