Third person arrested fleeing scene of Port Charlotte burglary

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives identified and arrested the third person involved in a November 14th home burglary on Meehan Avenue in Port Charlotte. Arrested Friday and charged with Burglary to an Occupied Dwelling and Petit Theft, was 21 year old Jason Jay Cotton of Port Charlotte. Cotton was transported to the Charlotte County Jail. Brian Hartmanstorfer and Anthony Hoban both remain in jail and have not posted bond.
Charlotte County detectives arrested two men for burglarizing and stealing from a Port Charlotte home in the 21300 block of Meehan Avenue Tuesday morning.
19-year-old Brian Jerome Hartmanstorfer and 20-year-old Anthony John Hoban, both of Port Charlotte, face charges burglary at an occupied dwelling, petty theft and resisting arrest.
The owner returned to his home and saw a blue pickup parked at a vacant home across the street. When the owner looked toward the pickup, it drove off at a high rate of speed. The owner went into his carport and noticed the storage room had been entered and an air compressor was missing.
Deputies saw the two men carrying an air compressor. When emergency lights were activated, they dropped the air compressor, ran, and a foot pursuit began. Backup deputies and K9 arrived and Hartmanstorfer and Hoban were both located in the 2100 block of Aaron Street. The police dog bit Hartmanstorfer in the leg. He and Hoban were both arrested.
