Reverse sting leads to drug arrest in Port Charlotte

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County's Narcotics Unit conducted a reverse sting Thursday that led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Port Charlotte man on charges of attempting to purchase a controlled substance (Oxycodone) and public assistance fraud.
Investigators received a tip that someone in Port Charlotte was advertising on Craig's List as "Looking for Roxy."
Detectives determined that the person was trying to get Oxycodone pills in exchange for a "Food Stamp" card worth $100.
Detectives arraigned a drug buy and arrested Jesse Thomas Wilkes. He is in the Charlotte County Jail on $6,000 bond.
