Callers sound off on upside down US flag in re-election protest
LEE COUNTY, Fla. - It looks like any other flag waiving in the breeze, right? Well, not exactly.
The flag is upside down and at half staff. So, who is doing this and why? Well, we caught up with Fort Myers homeowner 77 year old Don Zehnder.
He turned his flag upside down in his front yard first thing Wednesday morning after learning President Obama will get another 4 years in the White House.
"I had to do something," said Zehnder.
He was opposed to Obama's re-election he stopped watching tv news coverage of the election late Tuesday night.
"I beleive in god and my country and I think we have lost both," said Zehnder.
But one of his neighbors doesn't think his flag statement is appropriate.
"I just can't beleive someone would do that,"said one neighbor.
Another neighbor thinks differently.
"I think people are upset he got another term," said another neighbor.
Zehnder says he will fly his flag upside down for the next few days.
