CAPE CORAL, Fla. - More of a trick than a treat for potentially hundreds of kids in a Cape Coral neighborhood Halloween night.
A surprise in their candy bags sounds like something from the Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin episode and some families aren't happy about it.
Only Four In Your Corner's Colleen Hogan has a heads up for parents.
"Obviously the kids were upset," dad Spencer Crutchley said.
With smiling ghosts on the front, the treat bags the unwanted surprises came in look anything but scary.
"It's concerning because the kids have been Trick or Treating in this neighborhood for ten years," he said. "This is the first time we've come across something like this."
Crutchley estimates hundreds of little ones Trick or Treated Halloween night in the neighborhood off Santa Barbara. He says a scary surprise was waiting when his group of little ones got home and went through their candy piles.
The bags were sealed with twist ties. Inside, rocks!
They couldn't remember which house they got the bags from but they narrowed it down to two blocks. They suspect the bag of rocks came from a house from SE 18th St. to two blocks south off Santa Barbara.
He worries that a little one might have tried to swallow the rock, thinking it was candy, and encourages every parent to double check their kids candy before they eat it.
