FORT MYERS, Fla. - Hurricane Sandy is putting a major crimp in travel out of Southwest Florida Regional Airport. 49 out of 158 flights from RSW have been canceled today, that's one-third of total flights in any given day.
The biggest air carriers impacted by the storm include Jet Blue to JFK, Newark and Boston, Delta to LaGuardia, AirTran to Baltimore and Washington, Spirit to Atlantic City, US Air to Philadelphia and Washington and United to Newark.
According to RSW: All the airlines have been proactive and many are waving the change fee and allowing passengers to make changes right then and there. Airport officials say things have been smooth and recommends passengers contact their carrier w questions.
