FORT MYERS, Fla. - A red tide bloom that first showed up off the coast of Charlotte County now seems to be affecting people further south.
There have been reports of people having breathing problems as far south as Captiva Island.
The toxins from red tide can create problems for those with asthma or other respiratory conditions.
Officials with the Lee County Department Of Health are meeting on Tuesday to decide if more needs to be done.
