Should a New York City school district have to pay the medical bills after a teacher gets beat up by a student?
Four In Your Corner's Colleen Hogan has your reactions.
A 27 year-old school teacher in New York says he was beat up by a six year old!
The teacher, a 5-foot-10, 220 pound teacher and former football player says he was taking the first grader to the cafeteria when the child started acting up.
The teacher says when he tried to stop him, that's when the boy attacked, breaking his ankle and forcing him to have knee surgery. The teacher now has $10,000 in bills to pay.
The teacher is now filing a lawsuit with the district to pay those medical bills since he was hurt on the job. And that has many of you speaking out.
Frank from Cape Coral calling in: "The school district should pay his medical bills."
Yolee from Lee County agrees: "If you're on the clock and you get hurt, they always pay."
Phyllis from St. James City, has another idea: "I do not think the school district should have to pay for that. I think the child's parents should have to pay for that."
