Cape Coral, Fla. — A new face will soon join the Fox 4 Rising news team, a face that may be familiar to some Southwest Florida viewers.
It was announced this week Miriam Zamorano will join Fox 4 Rising as news anchor in early October. Zamorano most recently worked as a traffic reporter, anchor and lifestyle co-host for San Antonio’s FOX
affiliate, KABB-TV, but prior to that she spent three years as a reporter, anchor and traffic reporter for Southwest Florida’s WINK-TV.
“Miriam is an experienced journalist who knows the issues important to Southwest Florida, but she is also a warm and engaging person who is just as genuine in person as she appears to be on the news. That is what makes her the perfect fit to join the Fox 4 Rising team,” said Fox 4 General Manager Judy Kenney in making the announcement.
Zamorano’s return to Southwest Florida coincides with the birth of her first child. She’s been spending a few weeks at home and will join Fox 4 in mid-October.
“I am so excited to join the Fox 4 Rising team and look forward to bringing Southwest Florida viewers what they need to get their day started right,” Zamorano said. “I want to tell about what is going on in the world, but more importantly, I want our viewers to know about the news that is relevant to them. We’re going to be informational, but we're also going to have fun."
WFTX-TV Fox 4 is owned by Journal Broadcast Group.
