ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - Charlotte County detectives arrested an Englewood man for Grand Theft for stealing $27,000 worth of jewelry from Manasota Key condo last March.
26-year-old Christopher Daniel Straub was arrested on Tuesday after detectives learned that the suspect had pawned a large amount of jewelry at multiple pawn and gold shops.
Their investigation showed that Straub had made 55 pawns in Charlotte and Sarasota pawn shops since the date of the crime. A check of the pawned items were linked back to the condo theft case. Detectives are continuing to investigate all of the other pawned items made by Straub; more charges are expected.
Straub is a convicted felon and was released from the Charlotte County Jail after posting a $15,000 bond.
