FOX 4 Staff
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police are investigating an incident involving a 13-year-old girl and a strange man.
The girl was riding her bicycle on Bell Street last night at around 7 p.m. when a stranger, also on a bike, began following her. The stranger followed her all the way to a parking lot on Palm Beach Boulevard.
At that point police say the stranger got in front of the girl's bike, confronted and threatened her.
The girl began fighting the stranger and a Good Samaritan who witnessed the events stepped in to help the girls and the suspect fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30's, about 5' 5", skinny with short spiked hair. He was wearing dark basketball shorts with a blue cut-off basketball shirt. He had a cut on his forehead and the bike he was riding was pink and blue.
Police remind parents to teach children about stranger dangers and reporting suspicious activity. Anyone with information is asked to call FMPD at 321-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous.
