No more bible verse signs at football games
CREATED Sep. 24, 2012
A popular football tradition at a Texas high school is being called into question and it's garnering national attention.
Four In Your Corner's Colleen Hogan has more on what happened and your reactions.
At the high school, football players run through sigsn the cheerleaders have painted with scripture verses before they take the field. But not anymore. The school board has banned the signs after getting complaints that the banners are infusing religion into school sponsored activities.
We are hearing from you on our Viewer's Voice line.
Maggie from Naples calling in: "How ridiculous is it that they can't have their Bible verses us. That's so asinine. I can't even believe people anymore."
Curtis calling in: "I believe in the government being out of our religious activity. However, I think if a school does so decide to have that, I think they have the right to."
The students have a Facebook page with more than 33,000 people in support of keeping the religious signs but the district has no plans on revering it's decision.
