New name for Visually Impaired Persons of SW Florida

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Visually Impaired Persons of SWFL has officially changed their name to Lighthouse of SWFL. The unveiling took place in front of their center in North Fort Myers with over 150 guests in attendance on Wednesday. As the ribbon was cut, the official new name, logo and sign was revealed.
Lee County, Florida District Five Commissioner Frank Mann was the guest speaker and Lighthouse board president, Evan Connell shared his personal story about his visual impairment with the audience. By changing their name to Lighthouse of SWFL the center hopes to become more streamlined with other agencies serving the blind and visually impaired throughout the country.
