2 arrested in Bonita Springs shooting

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla - A late Friday shooting in Bonita Springs led to the arrest of two men.
It happened near the intersection of Hampton Street and Old 41 Road.
Investigators say the victim and a friend were walking south on Old 41 Road when they heard voices behind them. They turned around and saw two men. One of the men had a gun pointed at them. The victim removed his belt to defend himself and swung it at the gunman. The belt buckle hit the gunman’s accomplice in the head. The gunman then shot at the victim striking him more than one time.
The gunman and his accomplice fled the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.
Another witness called 9-1-1 which helped deputies track down the suspect vehicle which was stopped on north on Three Oaks Parkway near Estero Boulevard. Both of the men were in the vehicle and were positively identified as the men that accosted then shot the victim.
18-year-old Jose Huerta of Estero and 17-year-old Joseph Wilson of Bonita Springs both face charges of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon
