HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - A jury in Huntsville, Alabama convicted Daniel Ray Proctor on two felonies Tuesday morning. The judge immediately sentenced Proctor to life sentences on both charges.
Proctor had stolen an SUV and a pistol.
Proctor has long been a suspect in the disappearance of a Amy Patterson of Cape Coral.
Patterson disappeared about a year ago. Proctor and Patterson had been living together but she broke the relationship off. Proctor told officials at the school where she taught that she died in a car accident.
