Hit and run in San Carlos Park seriously injures teen
SAN CARLOS PARK, Fla. - A girl waiting in the pre-dawn hours for a school bus was hit by a pick up truck and seriously injured in San Carlos Park.
The hit and run happened at 6:13 a.m. at the intersection of Sanibel Boulevard and Geranium Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol says according to witnesses a red pickup truck traveling east on Sanibel Boulevard drifted off the road and onto the shoulder where the 16-year-old was standing.
The truck hit Keisha Bien-Aime, critically injuring her. The driver then fled the scene.
Bienaime was flown by MEDSTAR to Tampa General Hospital. The FHP reports the girl is in stable condition.
