A directive from Florida Governor Rick Scott to purge ineligible voters from the rolls continues to draw your comments.
2,700 people in Florida are on a list of potential non-citizens put together by the state. One of them is a 91 year old World War II veteran.
"I voted in Brooklyn when I lived in Brooklyn," a 91-year-old veteran who was targeted as a potential non-citizen. "I really don't understand it. To me, it's like an insult."
Still, Fovernor Scott feels a voter purge is necessary to make sure everyone on the voter rolls is legit. Many of you agree.
Dan from south Fort Myers calling in: "It is illegal to vote if you're not a citizen of the United States. What is the controversy? It's very simple."
Pete Dodato writing in an email: "There is more to this purge than just illegals. I feel the right to vote has been cheapened because we don't make people prove their right to vote."
Ron Swiger sounding off on facebook: “I think the voter purge is a good idea but the law needs to be followed on how it is done!”
Local Democrats think the move by the gov is nothing more than politics at work. “Along with everything that's going on, it just seems like its targeting certain groups of people.”
