Fox 4 gets results after speeding complaints

CAPE CORAL - Fox 4 is getting results for two Cape Coral moms worried for the safety of their kids.

The parents were fed up, after they say technicians with ITC Service Group, a California-based company contracted by CenturyLink to work on fiber-optic lines, were constantly speeding through their neighborhood on Southwest 7th Place.

Since our story aired, the parents say the speeding has stopped.

"Thank you guys very much for handling the situation," said Khira Wolfe. "I greatly appreciate it. The kids can actually be safe out here playing now."

Last week, one of the mothers shot video of a truck getting stuck in the sand and leaving a giant hole behind.

The president of ITC says the company has spoken with the technicians and have filled the hole with sand to smooth it out.

"Although they deny speeding of any kind and we have no way to prove otherwise," said ITC president Tim Sauer, "we have instructed them to be particularly careful when accessing this location. Additionally this top will be reviewed and discussed with all our technicians in our next safety meeting."

Sauer says a manager will visit the area this week to personally apologize.
