Rash of home burglaries in Naples

By Andre Senior. CREATED Mar 29, 2012 - UPDATED: Mar 29, 2012

NAPLES - Four homes were burglarized in the City of Naples in one night.

Several of the homes are located in the area of 2nd Ave North.

"I heard from my next door neighbor that their car had been stolen," said Brian Jones.

The thieves snuck into one home likely through an unlocked garage door, stole the victim's car keys and stole the resident's Toyota Camry.

The crooks also made their way into another home in that same area probably through the garage door and stole jewelry, collectable quarters and an iPad.

"She's upset... you always like think you're secure and when you feel like you're not secure... you don't feel good," said Stanley Lieberfarb, who lives next door to another home that was burglarized.

Many people who live in the area say burglaries are rare and they regularly leave their doors unlocked, but no anymore.

"Frankly I was walking around in the middle of the night to make sure that nobody was outside," said Brian Jones.

Others see this rash of crimes as a sign of the times for the City of Naples.

"I have that fear here eventually if Naples continues to grow... Obviously you're going to have more crime," said Lieberfarb

Naples police say that all the burglaries are likely related to an out of town group.

If you know anything that can help police catch the suspects, you’re urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
