Finding a replacement for Fort Myers Beach fire chief

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - Fort Myers Beach fire commissioners meet to discuss hiring a new fire chief. This comes after Chief Mike Becker abruptly resigned, amid an alleged sex scandal.
Last week, commissioners held a special meeting and voted to relieve Becker of his duties after he submitted his resignation.
This happening after a woman sent commissioners a packet of information accusing Becker of maintaining a 9 month long relationship with her, getting her pregnant and lying to her about being married to his wife.
The accuser also claims Becker used the district's computer and cell phone to send her racy messages. One commissioner plans to address this at tonight's meeting, and if the board decides to launch an investigation into this woman's claims, then Tuesday would be the night to do it.
The chairman of the board says he will also propose making changes to the new chief's contract in hopes of keeping things like this from happening in the future.
