TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - New numbers show a lot of Florida high schools are not making the grade.
The department of education finding that 22 of high schools in the state graded at a "C" or below when it comes to factors including college readiness and FCAT scores and seven percent of the schools got a "D" or "F".
In southwest Florida, 90 percent of Lee County's high schools graded at an "A" or "B" level.
That compares to only 56 percent in Collier County, including one "F" grade.
And 66 percent of Charlotte County's high schools had an "A" or "B" with no F's.
