Arctic Cold Moves In Tonight
Cold, Cold and Cold.
That sums up the next 3 mornings in Southwest Florida, although each day will bring a different concern.
Monday night into Tuesday morning, a Wind Chill Advisory will be in effect as winds will be from the north at 10-15 mph, with some higher gusts. Tuesday morning it will FEEL like the 30s in most communities.
The coldest afternoon will then be Tuesday, as it will feel like the 40s, even at the warmest point in the afternoon, thanks to a northerly wind at 10-20 mph. Sweaters and biggest coats are recommended.
Winds will be lighter Tuesday night into Wednesday, but Wednesday morning will be the actual coldest morning in Southwest Florida, and a freeze watch or warning will be in effect, as growers will be taking necessary actions to protect their crops, and all Southwest Floridians should protect the more sensitive plants.
The warming trend actually develops Wednesday afternoon, but by Thursday morning, a bit more moisture in the atmosphere may mean widespread frost east of I-75, where temperatures again could be close to freezing.
However, afternoons should return to the mid 70s by the weekend.
