Bedbugs found at Seminole Casino Immokalee
IMMOKALEE, Fla. - The Seminole Casino in Immokalee had two bedbug outbreaks in the last week and guests weren't notified, a casino spokesperson confirms.
"We didn't want to alarm people," said casino spokesperson Gary Bitner. "And we feel like we can manage it quickly and effectively."
Last week, employees noticed bedbugs on some of the furniture in the poker room. That's where the casino hosts daily tournaments and cash games. The room was cleaned and and closed for 24 hours, Bitner said.
On Wednesday, another bedbug outbreak was discovered near the blackjack tables. That area was closed off and reopened Thursday, according to Bitner.
The casino hired Steritech to inspect and clean the entire casino. Anything near the outbreaks like tables and carpets have been treated, Bitner said, adding he is "confident" the problem has been resolved.
