Actress Zelda Williams, 25, is ditching her social media accounts for a while ... or forever ... after receiving "cruel and unnecessary" messages in regards to herself, her late father Robin Williams, and her relationship with him.

After posting one simple, yet extremely heartfelt quote from "The Little Prince" in honor of her late father, "The actress apparently received criticism for not posting enough photos with her famous dad, who committed suicide Monday," reports the New York Daily News. "Other anonymous users went as far as criticizing Robin Williams, and his career, by leaving messages on his daughter's page."

"My family has always been private about our time together," she explains in a Tumblr blog post. "It was our way of keeping one thing that was ours, with a man we shared with an entire world.

"To those he touched who are sending kind words, know that one of his favorite things in the world was to make you all laugh," Williams continues on Tumblr. "As for those who are sending negativity, know that some small, giggling part of him is sending a flock of pigeons to your house to poop on your car. Right after you've had it washed. After all, he loved to laugh too."

Initially Williams asked her 178k Twitter followers to band together and report online users who were bombarding her accounts with reportedly horrifying Photoshopped images of her father. She even took time to personally respond to specific users individually.

Yet, the stress of online bullying became too much to bear during such a vulnerable time.

Williams deleted all of the tweets that she had sent to various bullies and replaced them with one final message. She also posted this closing message on Instagram:

Williams, her mother, producer Marcia Garces Williams, and her two brothers Cody, 22, and Zac, 31, each previously released their own official statement in regards to their tragic loss. Click here to read their messages.
