Police mace 'larger than normal' 6-year-old after suspect stabs grandmother
Maryland police maced a 6-year-old boy after responding to a Hancock residence which had reported a chaotic attack.
At around 8:35 a.m. on Monday, "deputies were called for a report of 'an out of control 6-year-old' who had stabbed his grandmother and was attempting to stab his mother as well," reports WUSA 9. "Deputies entered the home upon arrival and found the boy, who weighed approximately 100 pounds and charged the deputies wielding a large butcher-type knife in each hand, officials say. As the boy charged, he was waving both knives in a stabbing motion."
Pepper spray was used to make the child, descriped by police as "larger than normal," drop the knives.
Under police custody he was taken to Mertitus Medical Center for a mental evaluation. The young boy's grandmother refused medical treatment for the laceration on her hand.
Due to his age, no criminal charges have been filed against the child.
