Joel Osteen's megachurch burglarized

Televangelist Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston was burglarized after the church safe, filled to the brim with weekend donations, was broken into. Osteen's sermons are televised globally, reaching almost 100 countries. The estimated in-person attendance for his weekly service unbelievably exceeds 38,000 people.
According to the Associated Press and Time, "The offerings were given Saturday and Sunday. Investigators believe the safe was broken into between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. Monday. Lakewood followers had been advised to monitor their accounts."
Cash, checks and credit card information placed in donation envelopes are accepted as offerings to his Protestant megachurch. The monetary amount stolen remains unconfirmed at this time. No arrests have been made.
