General Motors has recalled 600,000 cars in the United States and 159,000 worldwide, specifically naming the 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalts and 2007 Pontiac G5.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says, "In the affected vehicles, the weight on the key ring and/or road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine,” reports ABC News.

General Motors will replace switches for free. However, owners are also being asked to remove unnecessary weight on their key rings.

This issue of losing power has caused 22 reported accidents and six deaths.
