The love of bacon has infiltrated every aspect of society and now, a minor league baseball team is taking it to a whole new level.
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, a Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, just unveiled its new uniforms, including fitted hats with a piece of bacon on the front and the word "Pigs" on their shirts underlined with another piece of bacon.
In addition, bacon piping runs down both sides of the uniform pants.
The IronPigs have promised to wear the new uniforms for every Saturday game during the upcoming season.
As expected, many people are very enthusiastic about the new uniforms and have taken to Twitter to express their thoughts.
Loving the @IronPigs new "bacon" unis. Wish the team had been there when I was living in Allentown as kid.— Austin Karp (@AustinKarp) February 25, 2014
That's not all though. The IronPigs store is also offering a scratch-n-sniff bacon T-shirt that the team claims will smell like bacon for between 10 and 15 washings.
