MSU Kicks Off Current Event Series
In response to recent tensions in Syria, Michigan State University’s Muslim Studies Program, in conjunction with the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, will kick off its new Current Event Series with a forum featuring leading experts on the Middle East.
Free and open to the public, “The Conflict in Syria” will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at 115 International Center.
Panelists will be Juan Cole, the Richard P. Mitchell Collegiate Professor of History at the University of Michigan; Mohammed Ayoob, University Distinguished Professor Emeritus of International Relations for MSU; Asaad Al-Saleh, assistant professor of languages and literature at the University of Utah; and Abdalmajid Katranji, founding member of the Foundation for Justice and Development and clinical assistant professor of medicine for MSU.
