MSU Hosts Corporate Speed Networking Expo
EAST LANSING, MI – Students will be taking advantage of a valuable opportunity to mingle and learn about Fortune 500 companies at the Native American & Hispanic Student’s Corporate Speed Networking Expo. This event will help students set themselves up in a position to receive internships or full-time offers in this competitive economy.
Native American & Hispanic Business Students (NAHBS) will host this professional event and are pleased to welcome recruiters from numerous corporations.
“This event allows students to explore the possibilities available with one of ten Fortune 500 companies who are looking for diverse talent in the workplace by providing an extraordinary networking opportunity unlike the Career Gallery in a small scale and informal atmosphere.” said Vanessa Servin, food industry management senior and NAHBS's president.
NAHBS is one of four student organizations under Multicultural Business Programs umbrella within the Eli Broad College of Business. They focus on developing its membership as professionals, strengthening their bond as a family away from home, and giving back to the community. By fostering these three facets, they develop dynamic and effective leaders.
The Corporate Speed Networking Expo is an event that gives students the opportunity to network with recruiters from Fortune 500 companies in a more personal setting. Students will listen to fifteen minute presentations from ten different companies and then get the chance to make a personal connection with recruiters during a networking reception afterwards.
Among the companies attending are Pepsi, TEKsystems, Ernst & Young, Altria, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. With such notable companies confirmed to be in attendance, students will have a second chance to create a first impression after the MSU Career Gallery.
Over 90 students attended last year's inaugural event and attendance is expected to increase this year. It is for that very reason that photography is encouraged to capture this memorable occasion. Please join NAHBS at the Corporate Speed Networking Expo on October 22, 2013 in the Eli Broad College of Business at 5:30pm.
