Two staff members from the ESPN television network will be at Michigan State University next Monday to meet with students and fill them in on employment opportunities in the sports media industry.

Chris Maier, an MSU alumnus who is with ESPN’s statistics and analysis department, and Jill Ann Bouffard, with the network’s content associates program, will meet with the students from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

The career conversations will be held in Rooms 182 and 190 of the Communication Arts and Sciences Building.

More than 300 students from both MSU sports media and sports business and entertainment programs applied for the 120 openings for the small-group career conversations. Students had to submit resumes in advance to be selected for the 15-minute sessions.

While on campus, Maier and Bouffard also will attend an afternoon class, Sports Media I. MSU’s sports journalism program is one of the most respected in the country with more than 100 sports media internships available to students each year and an alumni network of sports professionals holding top positions across the country.

At 5:30 p.m., there will be a Q & A session that will be hosted by WKAR Current Sports host Al Martin in Studio A. Martin also is an MSU sports journalism alumnus.
