MSU's FRIB Secures Federal Funding
There is some very good news for the FRIB project at Michigan State University.
The House and Senate Appropriations Committees each voted to spend $55 million on the next step in its development.
If the full House and Senate pass it, construction could start sometime after October 1st.
Total cost of the "Facility for Rare Isotope Beams" is estimated at $550 million.
It's expected to create 400 permanent jobs and $1 billion in local economic activity.
