Due to "overwhelming response" according to the Broad Art Museum's official Facebook page, the last day of photographing for "The Gift" at the Broad Art Museum will be this Friday, November 30th.
Originally, sessions were to occur through December 14th on Friday evenings. This Friday, those still interested can sit for portraits from 5-9PM at the museum.
In the days leading up to the grand opening weekend of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, dozens of people sat for black and white portraits as a part of photographic artist Jochen Gerz's "The Gift: Lansing, Michigan."
Once the exhibition is completed in mid-December, those who sat for portraits will receive one on permanent loan from the Broad Art Museum - just not their own portrait. Eli Broad, MSU President Dr. Lou Anna K. Simon, and hundreds of others have sat for portraits since the beginning of the project.
The Broad Art Museum's Facebook page will keep followers posted about the upcoming schedule of events for distribution of the portraits, set to occur December 16th - a Sunday.
