Pure Michigan Launches Photo Contest
The Pure Michigan campaign is looking for a photo to feature in its 2014 Spring/Summer Travel Guide.
That photo you took on your summer vacation up north could get you some national attention.
Pure Michigan is holding a photo contest in search of a picture to feature in its 2014 Spring/Summer Travel Guide. One million copies will be printed, with 650,000 copies inserted in the March/April issue of Midwest Living magazine.
“We are launching this Facebook photo contest as a way for our fans to showcase what Pure Michigan means to them, and illustrate the beauty and unique destinations found throughout the state,” said George Zimmermann, Vice President of Travel Michigan, part of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. “We had tremendous participation in our last Michigan Moments photo contest and we are excited to hear from our fans again this year.”
Photos must be submitted by midnight Sunday, November 10. Fans will be able to vote on their favorite starting November 11 through November 17.
Photos for the contest may be submitted directly to the Pure Michigan Facebook page via the photo contest tab, or through Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #PureMichiganContest. All submissions will be found on a customized Facebook tab on the Pure Michigan Facebook page. Submissions should identify the location in Michigan featured in the photo.
More than 3,300 photos were submitted to Pure Michigan through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram during last year’s Michigan Moments photo contest with 54,384 votes being cast in total. Photos ranged from sweeping landscapes to family portraits and featured scenes and destinations from all across Michigan. Last year’s winning photograph, submitted by Sean Chess of Coldwater, featured the St. Joseph North Pier Lighthouse at sunset.
