Popular Local Pizzeria Giving Day's Sales to Employees
FOX 47 News
Anyone who has experienced the stuffed pizza or the other food and beverage offerings at Klavon’s Pizzeria and Pub knows it is a great place to eat. It is also a great place to work.
Klavon’s will be an even more exciting place to work on Dec. 10, when 100 percent of the day’s sales will go directly to its employees as a holiday bonus.
“I hear a lot of good things about our pizza, but I know the reason behind our success is our great employees,” owner Justin Klavon said. “Passing on all of the proceeds from a full day’s sales is a unique and meaningful way to show appreciation for all they do to provide an excellent experience to all of our loyal Jackson County customers.”
Klavon’s has more than 50 employees and plans to hire 75 to 100 more this spring when its second location opens at 1361 Old McDevitt Road in Vandercook Lake.
“It’s great to work for a company that recognizes its employees like this,” said Andrea LaFever, a manager who has worked at Klavon’s since it opened in 2007. “We’re really excited about the opportunity. You hear so much these days about businesses cutting back on pay and bonuses or even cutting workers entirely. It’s nice to work at a place where the employees are treated so well.”
Klavon’s provides an excellent experience beyond its pizza. It is known for great customer service, cleanliness and attention to detail, and the food and beverages are all well executed.
Klavon’s employees are what make it a great place to eat, drink and gather with friends and family, said Justin Klavon, who is hopeful that his staff will be rewarded in a big way.
“I hope we have a record-setting sales day Tuesday,” he said. “Jackson County residents who have been here know what I know: Klavon’s has the best employees around. They deserve to be rewarded for their efforts.”
Klavon’s Pizzeria and Pub, located at 6010 Clinton Road northwest of Jackson, opened its doors in April 2007, operating first as a take-out and delivery pizza place with limited dine-in service. When it opened, it had just seven tables, no booths and a half-finished bar. Within two years, it had grown into what it is today, an excellent destination restaurant with 17 tables, 12 booths, 30 high-definition televisions and a delicious “Chicago style” pizza that people drive miles and miles to eat.
The new Klavon’s will feature 8,000 square feet of space with seating for 200 and a décor and color scheme similar to the original location. It will feature a bar area and provide several televisions that will feature sporting events and other entertainment options, just like the original Klavon’s. The new Klavon’s will include a take-out window, an outdoor patio and multiple interior levels, including a bar mezzanine.
