Pizza Party to be Hosted on Capitol Lawn
The Michigan Education Trust (MET) is hosting its third annual pizza party on the Capitol Lawn on Thursday, August 14th from 11:00AM to 2:00PM.
Sponsored by Hungry Howie's Pizza, the event will raise money to help Michigan foster care students attend college through MET's Charitable Tuition Program--Fostering Futures. More than 600 state employees, legislators and the public attended last year's event which raised nearly $6,000.
For a minimum $5 donation, attendees will receive a slice of pizza, a pop and ice cream. All the proceeds will go toward MET's Charitable Tuition Program.
During the event, the Michigan Youth Opportunities Initiative (MYOI) will be accepting donations of new standard size pillows and pillowcases for distribution to Ingham County youth entering foster care. The goal is 300 pillows and pillowcases.
The event is open to the public.
