Police Locate Suspect in Credit Union Robbery

LANSING - The man who police say robbed a Lansing credit union Monday has been caught. 27-year-old Arthur George Kurtze was arrested Wednesday on Lansing's southside. A Lansing police detective working on a tip was able to track Kurtze down and make the arrest.

Police say Kurtze robbed the Astera Credit Union on East Jolly Road at about 12:30 p.m. Monday. Police released a surveillance photo which had a good picture of the man who robbed the credit union.

No word on whether the tipster saw that photo.

Kurtze was in court Thursday, where he was arraigned on a single count of bank robbery.

He's due back in court August 25th.


LANSING - A man robbed the Astera Credit Union in Lansing Monday afternoon. The credit union located at 301 W. Jolly Road was robbed at about 12:30 p.m.

Lansing Police say the man did not show a gun, but presented a note demanding money from a cashier. He was described as calmly leaving the bank afterwards, walking westbound on Jolly Road.

The man has not been located.

Police have released a surveillance picture of the thief.
