Detroit Zoo Ending Bottled Water Sales
FOX 47 News
Even the best zoos are constantly working under tight budgets, which makes the decision by the Detroit Zoo to stop selling bottled water stand out.
The director calls the bottles its biggest source of plastic waste and says the zoo needs to do what is right for the environment.
Going green is going to cost the zoo $240,000 a year in revenue.
Instead of bottled water, it will sell reusable containers that can be filled at seven watering stations.
