Albion College Reopens After Destructive Storm
After canceling classes and closing campus when storms blew through last week, students and staff are back in class at Albion College Monday.
Interim President Mike Frandsen tells FOX 47 things are going well on campus today. Crews are making minor repairs to some of the buildings damaged during last week's storms, but it's not keeping students out of class.
Frandsen says there are still several trees down around the Nature Center and is encouraging people to stay off the nature trails until further notice.
About 100 students weren't able to go home when the college closed last week. Albion College put those students up in Seton Hall through the weekend.
No one was hurt during Wednesday night's storm. The National Weather Service has determined that a microburst with winds of up to 80 mph caused the destruction and disruption.
