UPDATE: Murder-Suicide Victims Identified

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TWP - A couple found killed in a Haslett home have been identified by the police. Reinhard and Elaine Klaus, both 64, were found deceased in their home in the 5600 block of Creekwood Lane.

A statement from Meridian Township Police says they are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.

Police were called to the home shortly after noon, Tuesday, on a report of an accidental shooting. 

Three dogs in the home were also found dead.

The Meridian Police statement says the incident remains under investigation. Those with information are asked to contact the Meridian Township Police Department at 517-853-4800 or submit an anonymous tip onm the Department's various social media sites.


UPDATE: According to reports, two people were found dead in what police are calling a murder-suicide in the 5600 block of Creekwood Lane in Haslett. 

No one else was found in the home when police arrived. 

The entrance to Creekwood Lane off Haslett Road has been blocked off by police.

Meridian Township Police are investigating an incident that they are calling a possible murder-suicide in the 5600 block of Creekwood Lane in Haslett.

A man and a woman are reported to live there. The police do not know their ages or relationship at this time. They are trying to locate the next of kin of the people involved. 

The police are still working on processing the scene. FOX 47 News has a crew on-site, and will update the story with more information as soon as it becomes available.


Police are on the scene of an unknown situation in Haslett Tuesday afternoon. 

Police-band radio reports indicate police were called to a home in the 5600 block of Creekwood Lane in Haslett at about 12:15pm.

FOX 47 has a crew at the scene. A police tactical team was called to the address, but has since left. At least one ambulance has left the scene as well with its lights off.
