Bike Sharing Pilot Program Coming To Lansing
FOX 47 News
Lansing is just weeks away from becoming the first city in the state of Michigan to launch a bike sharing program.
The three-month long pilot program is starting in August thanks to a deal with A2B Bikeshare -- a new Michigan company.
It works like the Zip Car program. Bikes will be stationed throughout Lansing for short-distance trips as an alternative to driving or public transportation.
The pilot will start with 20 bikes and 40 racks, which will be set up along Michigan Avenue from Frandor to city hall, and Old Town to Reo Town.
There's a community fundraiser for the program next week.
It's set for Wednesday, June 26, from five to seven at Clark Hill PLC on East Grand River in Old Town.
There's a suggested donation of $50.
