Update: U.S. 127 Reopened, Fatal Accident Investigated

Both directions of U.S. 127 were reopened shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday. A fatal accident had the highway closed between Lake Lansing Road and I-496 during morning rush hour.
Investigators say two people were in the Jeep. At least one was killed.
A fatal accident has closed US 127 in both directions between Lake Lansing Road and I-496.
Police tell us a Jeep Grand Cherokee went out of control before 6:30 a.m. as it was traveling southbound near the Frandor area. The Jeep apparently rolled through the median and came to rest in the northbound lanes. The driver was killed.
No other vehicles were involved in the wreck. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
According to reports, the crash on U.S. 127 that has caused closures at Lake Lansing Road was a single car accident with two occupants. The vehicle was on U.S. 127 southbound this morning, left the road, rolled into the median, and ended up on the northbound side of 127.
This, according to Lansing Township Police Chief Kay Hoffman.
No other vehicles were involved. Police would not confirm if there were any fatalities in the crash, though other news outlets are saying there was a fatality.
