Terri Lynn Lands Announces Run for Carl Levin's Seat

Michigan’s former Secretary of State, Terri Lynn Land, has announced that she plans to seek the Republican nomination to run for Democrat Carl Levin’s United States Senate seat. She is the first Republican candidate to officially declare her intention to run.
She made her announcement in a post on her Facebook page, and is expected to file her paperwork as a candidate by July 1. Gary Peters, D-Bloomfield announced that he was running for Levin’s seat in May.
Land was Michigan’s Secretary of State from January 1, 2003 – January 1, 2011, and has been a member of the Republican National Committee since the 2012 Republican Convention.
