CASE Cares Hosts 'Peacocks, Penguins and the Playground'
FOX 47 News
LANSING— All children deserve a safe place to play, and CASE Cares is building this dream into a reality by hosting “Peacocks, Penguins, and the Playground” on Thursday, May 23, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in order to raise funds for the support of the barrier-free playground being built at Potter Park Zoo.
With over 115,000 children with disabilities in Mid-Michigan, the playground structure will provide an environment where children with special needs can play, relax, and interact with one another.
CASE Credit Union President and CEO Jeffrey S. Benson, CPA, MBA, stated, “We’re very excited about this event. Every year we try to find bigger and better ways to raise awareness and make a difference in the lives of those in need and the response to our efforts have been very positive.”
“This playground is a great asset not only for Potter Park Zoo, but the whole Tri-county Region. These are the types of quality of life projects that make the Greater Lansing Region one of the best places to work, live and play in Michigan.” says CASE Credit Union President and CEO Jeffrey S. Benson, CPA, MBA.
The cost of the playground is approximately $160,000 with $90,000 of that being the actual equipment expense and the rest of the cost is for the playground surface, signage, landscaping and miscellaneous other items. The land is being made available by Ingham County. Money raised through the event will go toward these expenses.
Admission tickets are $10.00 for individuals age 15 and up, $5.00 for ages 4 to 18 and kids 3 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at Bake N Cakes, Grumpy’s Diner, Ledge’s Chiropractic and any CASE Credit Union branch.
Activities at the event will include a car show, live music, scavenger hunt, massage stations, face painting, disc golf and food.
