East Lansing Police Seek Witness

CREATED May. 21, 2013

East Lansing Police are looking for a man who may have seen the suspect involved in the May 16th sexual assault incident at the Abbott Pointe Apartments.

Police made contact with the witness who was walking his dog on the Northern Tier Trail, but they did not get the man's name or contact information.

The assault happened at about 8 p.m. in the parking lot outside the apartments, off of Abbot Road. The suspect dragged the victim, a woman going to school at MSU, behind a Dumpster-like bin, and physically and sexually assaulted her. He was last seen on Abbot Road just north of Saginaw Street.

The suspect is a white male, of average build, about 5'5"-5'10", and about 18-25 years old. He was wearing a faded red or pink shirt, shorts, and possibly grey shoes with white socks.

The man, or anyone else with knowledge of the assault, is asked to contact ELPD Detective Chris Shadduck at (517) 319-6842, or at cshaddu@cityofeastlansing.com
