East Lansing Police Investigate Sexual Assaults

Police in East Lansing are investigating two sexual assaults, and one attempted sexual assault.

The most recent one happened last night, May 16, around 8 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Abbott Pointe Apartments off Abbot Road.

Police say the suspect dragged the victim behind a dumpster, where he physically and sexually assaulted her before taking off on foot. The suspect was last seen on Abbot Road just north of Saginaw Street.

The suspect is described as a white male with an average build and height (5'5"-5'10"), and approximately 18-25 years-old. He was wearing a faded red or pink shirt, shorts, and bright green shoes with white socks.

A similar incident took place around midnight on Saturday, April 20, on Coolidge Road, south of Lake Lansing Road. The victim was dragged to a secluded area where she was physically and sexually assaulted.

Less than a week later, on Friday, April 26, a woman was attempting to enter her home in the 300 block of Charles Street around 3 a.m., when she was dragged to a secluded area where she was physically assaulted, and an attempted sexual assault occurred.

All three victims were MSU students, and in all three cases, the suspect was was described as a white male with an average build and height (5'5"-5'10"), approximately 18-25 years old.
