High school students in Holt are gearing up for a big fundraiser today. They are trying to raise money to bring a "Challenge Day" program back to the high school. In order to get the cash, they are holding a field day event today.
"Challenge Day" was made famous by an MTV show called "If You Really Knew Me." The day encourages students to open up and share their experiences. The ultimate goal is to promote acceptance and understanding, and break down cliques.
"Challenge Day" came to Holt High School in the winter, and students enjoyed the experience so much, that they want to bring it back. But it is an expensive program, with a cost of five thousand dollars a day. The students are holding this fundraiser in hopes of bringing it back.
Today, students at Holt High School will be able to pay five dollars to do field day activities outside and miss two hours of class.
