2 People Arrested in Jackson Area BB Gun Shootings
UPDATE: 2 men are arrested and accused of shooting out several car windows with a BB gun and stealing items inside. Police suspect they are the same men who have been doing this to dozens of cars in the Jackson area over the past couple weeks.
Blackman-Leoni Public Safety officers arrested a 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old man early Tuesday morning near the Westwood Mall. Police say a witnesses called police shortly after midnight, after spotting the men shooting out car windows on Varden Drive. Police say when they arrived the men ran away, but they were located a short time later. Police found two cars on Varden Drive, and two cars in the mall parking lot had their windows shot out, and items inside stolen. Police say they recovered a BB gun during the course of the arrest.
Investigators suspect the men may also be responsible for over 30 similar car window shootings that took place in the city of Jackson last week. Blackman-Leoni Public Safety Officers are working with Jackson City Police on the investigation. The men are expected to be charged with car larceny and malicious destruction of property Wednesday.

Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety arrested a 23-year-old and a 25-year-old after a witness saw them shooting at cars on Varden Drive just after midnight Tuesday.
Deputy Director Jon Johnston tells FOX 47 News officers did recover a BB gun in the suspects' possession and are working with city police to see if the two can be connected to several other shootings in and around the city.
Nearly three dozen incidents have been reported since last week. The shootings were happening in the late evening and early morning hours.
